Scorpio Mantra

“I know I cannot control everything.”

Scorpio is a resourceful and secretive sign. Naturally distrusting and suspicious of others, it may be hard to get close to a Scorpio. Scorpios keep their secrets close to their hearts and find it nearly impossible to fully express themselves to the world. Despite being aloof by nature, Scorpios are extraordinarily passionate and loving to those they deem worthy of their time and trust. Their love can be so deep that it often morphs into jealousy and possessiveness. Scorpios are brave and fierce, making great leaders who don't shy away from a challenge.

What to Know about Scorpio

Scorpio is a Water Sign, along with Cancer and Pisces. Water is a feminine element that combines the Zodiac qualities of cold and wet. The watery nature encourages Scorpios to keep moving forward and to hold onto their secrets. Scorpios make great friends, valuing honesty and loyalty in their personal relationships. Scorpios choose quality over quantity, usually having a tight-knit circle of friends that they trust and value above all else. The totem of Scorpio is the Scorpion, originating from the Greek myth of Orion, the gifted hunter, who was killed by a Scorpion. The origin of Scorpio highlights the violent and vindictive nature that may be lurking within Scorpios if they are not careful.

Scorpio's ruling planets are Pluto and Mars. Pluto encourages secrecy that may result in jealousy and self-destructive behavior. Pluto can be cold and distant, often containing our fears. Meanwhile, Mars is associated with strength and energy. Mars provides Scorpios with their brave warrior spirit.

Mesi Swanson, Keeper of Scorpio

“I know I'm stubborn and intense. Once you learn to rely solely on yourself, it's hard to let anyone else in.”

Mesi Swanson is the 24-year-old Keeper of Scorpio in my YA Fantasy, SON OF THE SUN. She has blue eyes, brown skin, and curly black hair. She is brave and resourceful, learning how to hunt and take care of herself from a young age. She is naturally distrusting of others, not wanting them to get too close to her. Her tough front only fades away for Dian, the man she loves and trusts with all her heart. She is protective over Dian, often saving him more than the other way around. Mesi has an unbreakable warrior spirit who barely acknowledges the obstacles in her way before unapologetically knocking them down.
